Commentary on the Keynote Speech of IWSEE 2010

Prof. Masakatsu Matsuishi of the Kanazawa Institute of Technology, Japan, gave a marvelous keynote speech at the International Workshop on Science and Engineering Education 2010 in Taiwan.

The intellectual property education was described and presented in the keynote speech, and it would help engineering students achieve the following:

1.Developing intellectual property right strategies based upon acquired knowledge of Intellectual Property Law
2.Obtaining intellectual property protections such as patents and trademarks
3.Protecting intellectual property rights against infringement or misuse
4.Utilizing intellectual property rights for various business purposes
5.Searching for relevant patents in Intellectual Property Digital Libraries

The next step of the plan will be promoting intellectual property education with as many foreign universities as possible.
